Three stages of Late Cretaceous Laojunshan granite pluton (zircon U-Pb age: 95–80 Ma). The pluton is composed of the following five units: coarse- and medium-grain monzogranite (stage I, 91–88 Ma), medium-fine- and fine-grain monzogranite (stage Ⅱ, 87–85 Ma), and granite porphyry (stage III, 83–82 Ma), with similar mineral composition of K-feldspar, plagioclase, quartz, muscovite, biotite and some accessory minerals (e.g. zircon and apatite). The W-Sn bearing veins of the three deposits are hosted in the contact zones between different lithologic units, including Kouha deposit between unit 1 and unit 2, Jinzhulin deposit between unit 3 and unit 4, and Tiewan deposit between unit 1 and unit 5, with orientations structurally controlled and striking primarily to the EW and SN. Hydrothermal alteration is well-developed near the veins, comprising several cm thick envelopes of greisenization, pyritization, silicification and sericitization, and greisenization and pyritization are the two dominant alteration.
