Köppen climate type:
Based on lithological and textural characteristics, the sampled profiles from the Mianchi (MC) area can be broadly divided into four distinct units from bottom to top. The lower unit consists of clays interbedded with coal seams, upon which the lower bauxite horizon is located. The lower bauxite horizon is grey to greyish yellow and typically shows pelitic and clastic textures. In some cases, clastic textures occur with ooids embedded in a pelitic matrix. The middle bauxite horizon is more cohesive and shows a massive texture with a porous structure. This is followed by three clay-rich layers overlaying the bauxite horizon. The lowest clay layer is dark grey in colour and dominated by muscovite. The middle clay layer is earth-yellow and contains abundant ooids and pisolites within a massive kaolinite matrix. The uppermost clay- and Li-rich layer is also earth yellow in colour and contains massive ooids and pisolites.
