A medium-scale gold deposit, hosting proven reserves of 12.5 tonnes (t) Au at an average grade of 4.14 g/t, with associated Ag resources of 136 t Ag averaging 45 g/t. The deposit contains a total of 5 gold (silver) orebodies, of which the No.1 orebody is the main orebody with a gentle dip angle. It developed within a complex auriferous hydrothermal system in the Jurassic intermediate-acid volcaniclastic rocks of the Nanyuan Formation and rhyolite porphyry, outside the Dongkeng volcanic Basin. The Dongji gold deposit comprises two distinct Au mineralization events, each with its own ore style and partial alteration mineralogy: an Au- and Ag-rich first stage (i.e., the ore stage 1), which constitutes the bulk of the Au endowment, and a relatively Au-rich but Ag-poor second stage (i.e., the ore stage 2). Dongji gold deposit is a subepithermal deposit formed near the porphyry hydrothermal system.
