Vote for your favorite mineral in #MinCup26! - Quartz vs. Asagiite
It's a classic vs a newbie as the most common named mineral in the crust Quartz is up against an exceedingly-rare sea foam-green mineral discovered just a few years ago Asagiite.

It occurs as a lopolith, trending nearly east–west with a northward dip. The surface exposure of the Yunhai intrusion covers approximately 0.65 km2, extending 1.6 km east–west and 0.4 to 0.65 km north–south, with a maximum thickness of 147 m. In addition, this intrusion displays remarkable differentiation, with the lithological sequence from top to bottom comprising diorite, gabbro, hornblende pyroxenite, and olivine pyroxenite, with gradational contacts between each unit. Furthermore, the medium-sized Yunhai Cu-Ni sulfide deposit (@32.7 kilotons of nickel and 16.9 kilotons of copper), a significant exploration success in 2020, was discovered in the southwest of the Lubei deposit, reinforcing the substantial Cu-Ni mineralization potential in the western JLOB, Northern Tianshan.
