Paselstollen (Radhausberg-Unterbaustollen; Gasteiner Heilstollen; Heilstollen; Thermalstollen)
This adit, also known as 'Radhausberg-Unterbaustollen', 'Thermalstollen' and 'Gasteiner Heilstollen' (since 1952), was driven during the second world war, to explore the Radhausberg gold deposit at a greater depth, where rich ores were believed to exist. Its entry is situated on the northwestern slope of Radhausberg mountain, at an elevation of 1280 m (above sea level), just below the Taddäus adit. After a distance of 2425 m, and cutting through 140 mineralized clefts, the sulphide-bearing veins were finally reached. The ore was largely leached out by rising thermal waters, though.
It is used as a 'Heilstollen' (healing adit) since 1952, under the assumption that the radon present in the adit's air is benevolent for health.
