The three major gold orebodies (No. III, I, II) at Hengjiangchong are mainly controlled by NW-trending faults (Fig. 3). The No. Ⅰ orebody is about 600 m long and 10 m thick, and is delineated by two sets of exploration lines (No. 4 and No. 6). No. Ⅰ orebody accounts for ∼ 50 % of the gold production at Hengjiangchong, making it the largest orebody there. The occurrence of the No. Ⅰ orebody is typical of most of the orebodies in the Hengjiangchong deposit. The surface length of this kind of orebody is approximately 200–600 m long and 4–10 m thick, with a wide variation in average ore grade (1.05–6.44 g/t) and the orebodies strike 280–310° and dip to the NE at 10–48°.
