Trachytes in the Meiziya Formation are the major hosts for the Nb(-REE) orebodies and consist of multiple lithofacies from the subvolcanic facies (trachytic porphyry), the explosive facies (trachytic breccia), overflowing facies (trachytic ignimbrite) to sedimentary facies (trachytic tuff). Currently, four Nb ore zones (Nb-I, Nb-II, Nb-III and Nb-IV) have been identified and contain trachytic complex of trachytic tuff, trachytic ignimbrite and trachytic porphyry. Nb2O5 grades of these trachytic rocks are in the range of 0.06–0.10 wt% with an estimated Nb2O5 reserve of 1.23 million tons based on the minimum economic ore grade (0.08 wt%) of Nb2O5.
