The skarn iron deposits in the Wuan region occur along the contact zone between the Yanshanian diorite–monzonite and sedimentary carbonates of the Middle Ordovician, with magnetite as the primary ore mineral. With a total of six ore bodies, of which the Fe6 ore body is the main collection area.

The main orebody is about 20,796 m long from east to west, with a depth of approximately 363 m and a width ranging from 61 to 700 m, and an average width of 351 m. The thickest part of the orebody is 45 m, with an average thickness of approximately 12.6 m. The orebody strikes N-E, dipping to the southeast at an angle of approximately 20 degrees. The shape of the orebody is relatively simple, high in the west and low in the east, extending like a strip.
