Hemiakoski
On the slope of the hill there are rock ledges, 1.5-2.5 m high, composed of staurolite-andalusite biotite schists, which form the upper subformation of the Pyalk-Yarvinskaya suite (Ladoga series). They are traced for 300 m to the watershed of the mountain, which is a rocky dome-shaped outcrop of the same schists. At present, it is mostly covered with reindeer moss and lichens, but with minimal effort it can be exposed. A large-porphyroblastic structure of schists is observed, due to andalusite porphyroblasts up to 3-4 cm in size, their shape is mostly oval or close to rectangular. Colour is light grey.
Staurolite has a prismatic shape, sometimes "crosses" are observed. The size of the crystals is 1.0-1.5 x 0.5-0.7 cm. The strike azimuth of the schistosity is NW 350°. There is also a fine corrugation of schistosity. Shearing is noted in the groundmass of the rock and even in andalusite porphyroblasts.
