(Granite) "is exposed at the old County Council quarry at Butterfield Beach,Half Moon Bay, and on the headland at the south end of the beach. Similar rocks are exposed at Ackers Point and on the south side of the Ackers Point peninsula, 800 m west of the lighthouse.
At each locality well-defined contacts sharply cutting the strike of the older gneissic diorites can be seen. Besides these exposures, several small bodies of granite with no observed contacts with the surrounding rocks were seen; the best exposed of these is on the west side of Golden Bay, Paterson Inlet"(Watters, 1978).
