Partly serpentinized (antigoritized) dunite in the the Sanbagawa metamorphic belt, a subducting slab complex of the Cretaceous age. The Fujiwara dunite body (less than 200 × 400 m in plan) is part of an ultramafic-mafic complex, enclosed by pelitic schists of a high-temperature part of the biotite zone to garnet-biotite transition zone.
