A former uranium and vanadium mine.

Location:
The Mi Vida Mine is located along the north side of Steen Canyon along the Big Indian Wash valley, about 5 miles (ca. 8 km) south of La Sal, Utah.

History:
The orebody was discovered on July 6, 1952 by Charles Steen, when his drilling rig cut through 14 feet (4.27 m) of high grade uraninite ore. Production began a short time later, and the mine continued to produce large amounts of ore until the price of uranium dropped significantly around 1960.

While the orebody was discovered in 1952, Charles Steen staked the claims for this mine in early 1951.
