Structure: Gentle Folding, Buckling Of Strata; Later Crushing Of Veins

Alteration: Oxidation Of Sulfide Ore; Kalolinization

Deposit: Quartz fissure vein with diorite-porphyry dike As hanging wall and limestone As footwall. Native copper forms knife-edges in cracks and small nodules in vein

Deposit type: Polymetallic replacement

Development: District organized in 1867, mill erected in 1886. In gulch on NW side of montezuma peak. Active work ceased in 1887, but some old properties were being reopened in 1905. Production estimated at $500,000
