A Pb-Zn-Au-Ag-Cu mining district discovered in the 1880's, and has produced intermittently since. It is located in T.20S., R.27E.
Mineralization is lead ores in irregular, oxidized replacement orebodies of base metal sulfides in folded and faulted Pennsylvanian-Permian Naco Group limestones, mainly above a tabular diorite porphyry intrusion along, and associated with, a strong thrust fault.
Workings include numerous shaft and adit openings. Some 49,000 tons of ore were produced, mainly from 1937-1953.
