A town which is the location of the jadeite valuation facility of Myanmar Gems Enterprise, which oversees jadeite mining in the Nansibon and Natmaw mining districts for the Burmese government's Ministry of Mines.

Also alluvial gold (the name "Hkamti" means "Place of Gold").
