Agua Amarga is a small village belonging to the municipality of Níjar, located on the coast and in the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. Andesitic and dacitic rocks belonging to the Cabo de Gata Volcanic Complex outcrops in its environment, along with abundant alluvial deposits. In the area you can find nodules and small silicified levels with interesting samples of quartz in its cryptocrystalline varieties, chalcedony and jasper, accompanied by interesting opal in varied colors, white, green, orange, purple and others.

Agua Amarga es un pequeño pueblo perteneciente al municipio de Níjar, situado en la costa y en el Parque Natural Cabo de Gata-Níjar. En su entorno afloran rocas andesíticas y dacíticas pertenecientes al Complejo Volcánico de Cabo de Gata, junto con abundantes depósitos aluviales. En la zona se pueden encontrar nódulos y pequeños niveles silicificados con interesantes muestras de cuarzo en sus variedades criptocristalinas, calcedonia y jaspe, acompañadas de interesantes ópalos en variados colores, blanco, verde, naranja, morado y otros.
