Trachyte outcrop with large hornblende crystals. In the place called Los Ricones, in a ravine that flows into the Rambla de Covalicas, the largest "basaltic hornblende" crystals appear that have probably been found in the province of Almería. They are prismatic in habit, up to 3 cm long and more than one cm thick. They can be found both in trachytic rock and loose on the ground.
Afloramiento de traquita con grandes cristales de hornblenda. En el paraje denominado Los Ricones, en un barranco que desemboca en la Rambla de Covalicas aparecen los cristales de "horblenda basáltica" mas grandes que probablemente se han encontrado en la provincia de Almería. Son de hábito prismático de hasta 3 cm de largo y más de un cm de grueso. Se pueden encontrar tanto en la roca traquítica como sueltos en el terreno.
