It is a southeastern urban area of the City of Rome, located inside the ring-road known as the Grande Raccordo Anulare ("GRA"). It belongs to the "Municipio Roma VII" administrative area. Its name derives from two farmhouses, originally two little huts (capannelle in Italian), that were located along the Appia Way (Via Appia).
