A former Hg-Cr mine located in the NW¼NW sec. 16 & sec. 17, T8N, R10W, MDM, 0.5 km (1,600 feet) WSW of Guerneville. Name resulting from the consolidation of two pre-existing workings.

Located on the eastern side of Sweetwater Springs Road. and north of the village of Rio Nido.

Mineralization is hosted in rocks of the Franciscan Complex (serpentinite, sandstone, and sedimentary breccia) along a fault contact of narrow serpentine masses and Franciscan sandstone. The ore occurs as pipes and tabular bodies in coarse granular silica-carbonate rock that has altered from serpentine.

Local structures include faults, WNW-trending fault zone, N- and E-trending high angle faults, other fault sets striking NW and NE.

DIREXPL DMEA explored geologically favorable structures in 1956 and found significant amount of ore.
