Chromian muscovite, uvarovite, and zincian chromite in biotite schist, and quartzite.

Fault breccia to the Arthur Marble, contains highly deformed, and elongated fragments of quartz-muscovite-chlorite-epidote-magnetite-chromite schist; and quartz-biotite-chromian muscovite-chlorite-magnetite-chromite schist; and angular quartzite fragments with varying amounts of K feldspar, chromian muscovite, muscovite, chromian chlorite, uvarovite, magnetite, rutile, and chromite.

Bands can be chromium muscovite rich or poor. Calcite veinlets cut the quartzite. Thin 20 mm bright green layers rich in uvarovite and zincian chromite, in pebbles within Late Pleistocene gravels in the lower reaches of the creek. Bright emerald green uvarovite can be up to 50% volume of the rock. Many form coronas around deep reddish-brown zincian chromite grains, rimmed by pale brown garnet, and rarely chromian chlorite. Interstitial microcline can be up to 5% volume of the rock.

In uvarovite poor bands, is found brown clay, calcite, and minor cerussite, associated with colourless grossular.

The lower reaches of Plumbago Creek is crossed by the Collingwood to Farewell Spit Road, about 6 kilometres north of Collingwood.
