A former Fe-Cu mine located in the Val Punteglias near to the Alp da Punteglias, 3 km NNW of Trun.

The mine comprised about 8 adits, 3 on the W (Platta cotschna at approx N46.76574 E8.96737, Swiss grid 716770 180533) and 5 on the E (Cavestrau at approx N46.76636 E8.97071) of the stream Ferrara (foundry). The adit entrances are still visible and in 1990 they were partly accessible. The foundations of a Knappenhaus (miner’s lodging) are also visible. Furnace and foundry were near Trun.

The first record dates from 1472 and thereabouts the first furnace was constructed in the valley. In the beginning the mining rights were owned by the abbey of Disentis (Mustèr) and later by the borough of Trun. Till 1848 a number of entrepreneurs operated the mine with long idle periods. None had any commercial success. In 1818 Pater Placidus a Spescha convinced some investors to revive the mine and to install a new furnace and a foundry, but in 1848 everything was coming to an end. The last operator of the mine was contractually obliged to bring some other industry to Trun if the mine failed. The mine failed and the operator established a wool and clothing enterprise (Trun AG) which flourished till its closing in 2001.
