In hornblende-feldspar gneiss.

The old Radnor mine4 is situated on lot 16, concession IX, Grattan township.
The old road to the mine runs 1-1/4 miles south to southeast from the road between concessions X and XI in the middle of lot 17. The property was developed by the Canada Iron Furnace Company, of Montreal, and operated almost continuously from 1901 to 1907, during which time approximately 18,824 tons of ore was shipped to Radnor Forges, Que. Shipping ore had an iron content of 48 percent, and upwards; all leaner ore was left in stock at the mine. (ARV53)

The Radnor workings form a large semicircle over a length of about 425 m. The pits vary in size from 9 m by 6 m and 4.5 m deep, up to a large pit about 91 m long, 3 to 7.5 m wide and varying from 1.5 to 9 m in depth. (MDC20)
