Labelle, MRC Des Laurentides, Laurentides, Québec, Canada
Small village located approximately 35 km north of Mont-Tremblant.
Two garnet mines (Labelle Mine, and McLean-McNicoll Mine) were operated between the 1930s and the 1950s, and a graphite mine was operated between 1907 - 1919 and 1935 -1952.
High grade metamorphic rocks (Gneisses, quartzites, crystalline limestones and calco-silicated rocks)are predominant in the area. Intrusive rocks (Granites, pegmatites, pyroxenites, etc...) are common. A major shear zone (the Labelle Shear Zone) crosses the village in a SW - NE direction.
