A granite pegmatite with assimilated chlorite schist. Brand et al. (2009) described the geology and mineralogy of the occurrence of emerald in a granite pegmatite/ultramafic rock interface. The contacts were diffuse indicating mixing and assimilation. The provocative chemical analyses indicated F-dominant compositions of the tourmaline equivalent to fluor-dravite and a fluorine-dominant schorl. The fluor-dravite appears to have been restricted to the chlorite schist host, while the "schorl" occurred in the granite pegmatite. The authors also observed a nickel arsenide, which they did not further characterize. The species list for this locality includes species from the contact rocks as well as the granite pegmatite itself. The co-ordinates of the location are as they appeared in Brand et al. (2009).

| ⓘ Schorl ? Formula: NaFe2+3Al6(Si6O18)(BO3)3(OH)3(OH) Description: Brand et al., 2009 suggested they had chemically analyzed an intermediate schorl-dravite, but the authors stated that: "The F sites are found to be full..." This indicates that some of the black tourmaline in the granite pegmatite could be the F analog of schorl. |
