Cuba City is a city that was incorporated as a village in 1894 and incorporated as a city in 1925.

List of minerals reported in the abundant old lead-zinc mines working in vicinity, extending east into adjacent Lafayette County (see http://www.mindat.org/loc-51785.html ). Many of these sites have been reclaimed since the mining ceased in the area in the 1970's.
