Hå Municipality covers an area of approximately 250 km².

The majority of this area is low-lying farmland covered with glacial sediments; a large part of the coastline is an end moraine.
The land rises to the east, and low hills (height ~300-400 m) dominate the landscape.

The local rocks are mostly high-grade metamorphic gneisses with some (meta)granites. A few patches of eclogite facies rocks are known.

Most of the localities are associated with the Egersund-Ogna anorthosite, where extensive mapping of anorthosite with labradorescent feldspar has been carried out. In addition, the anorthosite body contains a few small Ni-bearing pyrrhotite prospects and mines.

There are (2015) two active quarries, one for ornamental stone (anorthosite), and another quarry producing crushed rock. The latter is worked in a gneiss, and some zones with zeolite mineralizations have been encountered.
