A former gold mine.
Gold was first found in the area in 1888 and the New Milo Mine established in 1889. The lower levels of the mine are flooded, to about 25 metres of the surface.

Reputedly the largest mine on the Wadnaminga Goldfield.

Alternate names for the mine include: McLeay and Company (1889); Birthday (1889-1892); The Birthday Gold Mining Pty Syndicate(1890-1892); Milo (1892); New Milo (1892); New milo Gold Mining Company (1892-1897); The New milo Gold Mining Company No Liability (1933-1934); Wadnaminga Consolidated No Liability (1934-1935).
