Located in Sec 21, T21N R32E.
Structure: NE Trending, SE Dipping Faults

Deposit: The main ore body is 14 ft thick but thinned to 6 ft at pit level. Bindheimite occurs as earthy to pitchy pods that fill the entire east-trending vein, leaner veins contain amounts of milky quartz with the bindheimite. The ore bearing veins cut across granodiorite and hornfels. Vein is gossany with extensive iron-stained alteration extending into the adjacent meta-siltstone. The vein shape is pod-like with radiating veinlets of quartz into gouge that extend along adjacent fractures; model name could also be: polymetallic veins. In 1865 a smelter was built for treat the ore from the mine, the Montezuma mine is developed on the east-trending vein by a pit 90 ft long, 20 ft wide, and 20 feet deep with incline shaft sunk to 120 ft deep. The main ore body in the pit was 14 ft thick but thinned to 6 ft at the level of the pit; info.src: 1 pub lit; 2 unpub rept; 3 field observ.
