Porphyry tungsten-molybdenum deposit.

The Yangchuling deposit is a prototypical porphyry-type W-Mo deposit within the central Jiangnan orogenic belt. Its mineralization is genetically linked to Yanshanian highly fractionated I-type granite (150–140 Ma), primarily occurring in the middle-upper portion of late monzogranite porphyry, with subordinate mineralization at the contact between porphyritic monzogranite and porphyritic fine-grained biotite granodiorite. Mineralization Characteristics: Ore bodies are predominantly hosted in the upper monzogranite porphyry and its contact with granodiorite, exhibiting stratiform, lenticular, and stockwork morphologies controlled by intrusion morphology and fault systems. The deposit contains proven reserves of 61,300 tonnes WO3 (average 0.2%) and 16,900 tonnes Mo (average 0.03–0.06%), with ore bodies reaching a maximum thickness of 140 m. Scheelite typically occurs as disseminations and within fine stockwork veins, while molybdenite is found in quartz veins. A subtle mineralization zoning is observed, with W concentrated in the monzogranite porphyry and Mo more dispersed within the granodiorite.
