Host Rock: Iron Formation

An iron mine begun as the Monitor mine in 1888, shipping ore in 1889. The Lamont Iron Co. bought it in 1892, renamed it Lamont, and shipped through 1894. Corrigan McKinney took over and shipped ore from 1899 through 1910. Two shafts were installed.

The property description is NW-SE Sec. 20 T43N-R32W, which is the 40 acres between N46º6'18", N46º6'31", W88º19'51", and W88º20'10".
