Original site for wavellite at this locality (1907) occurred in a bank above the quarry and is no longer accessable. Modern material has been found mainly on the storm beach below the old quarry.
More recently, variscite as rare pale green spheres to 1mm and micro cacoxinite and crandallite have all been confirmed by XRD at the National Museum of Wales, and represent the first Welsh occurrences of these minerals.
The location lies in the parish of Pennard.
