Named in honor of Lubor Žák (29 July 1925, Prague, Czechoslovakia - 6 August 2008, Prague, Czech Republic), prominent mineralogist and crystallographer, and professor in the Department of Mineralogy, Geochemistry and Crystallography, Charles University in Prague.
Chemically a bit similar to (but more simple that) menchettiite and oyonite. Also compare clerite.
