Name:
Named in honor of Oleg Iokhanesovich Siidra (b. 1981), Department of Crystallography, Saint Petersburg State University, Russia, for "his extensive work on secondary lead oxysalts and, in particular, on synthetic iodine-rich phases". Pronounced “see-dra-ite”.
New structure type. Siidraite has a unique composition and structure (the only currently known Pb-Cu-I mineral). It is the third naturally occurring halocuprate(I) after marshite and nantokite.
The second lead iodide mineral after mutnovskite, and fourth Pb- and I-bearing mineral after the latter, schwartzembergite, and seeligerite.

Known in only one single specimen, where it occurs as a secondary phase.
