The Perovskite Subgroup is a subgroup of the Stoichiometric Perovskites Group in the Perovskite Supergroup. They are defined as oxide single perovskites. Members of this group is characterized by oxygen as the dominant anion (Mitchell et al., 2017).
NB: The Perovskite Subgroup is not to be confused with Perovskite Supergroup, to which is belongs; the latter is a chemically diverse structural grouping which contains all structurally related species.
The minerals in this group are the commonest members of the perovskite supergroup, found in the Earth’s crust and are one of various minerals known as important calcium-aluminum-rich (CAI) inclusions in chondritic meteorites. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcium–aluminium-rich_inclusion)
