Named by Yulia A. Uvarova, Elena Sokolova, Frank C. Hawthorne, Atila A. Agakhanov, and Leonid A. Pautov in 2008 in honor of Dimitri Vasilievich Nalivkin (Дмитрий Васильевич Наливкин) (25 August 1889, Petersburg, Russia – 3 March 1982, Komarovo, Russia), Soviet geologist. His most significant achievement was the creation of the index geological maps of the USSR.
