Other/historical names associated with this locality:
Cakes and Ale Mine
Some reports (such as Greg and Lettsom) call this mine "Cakes and Ale", but others list it as "Ale and Cakes".
Located at United Downs.
The sett straddles the road from Pulla Cross to Crofthandy. The eastern part of the Ale & Cakes sett has been covered by the United Downs Raceway oval track stock car / banger circuit, the western side of the sett is now covered by the household waste recycling centre.
Dumps remain on the eastern part of the site, albeit much reduced in size and flattened off, although interesting finds of minerals are still possible with some diligence.
