An old lead mine started in 1827 and closed in 1901.
Total production of some 10,000 tons of lead-ore.
"Extraction of ore from the Allerborn lead mine was mainly concentrated on the territory of Belgium. Cubic crystals of galena up to 1.5 cm on edge were found, together with pyrite and sphalerite. The gangue rock is quartz-like. Secondary minerals include cerussite and pyromorphite." [Heinen, 1996]
It is still possible to find minerals on the dumps. The location is privately owned, prohibition signs are present (March 2024).
