Wayne County is a county in northeast Ohio. It was founded on March 1, 1808 and named after General Anthony Wayne (1745-1796), an officer during the Revolutionary War. Anthony Wayne also participated in the Northwest Indian War and was a commander during Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1794. The county seat is Wooster.
