An ancient lead mine, worked from 1810 to 1903 in conjunction with the nearby Glückstal mine, with which it was connected underground. A report from 1809 states that it was already started in the early 18th century, but abandoned around 1746. In 1934, the mine was reopened to extract lead and zinc ores from a vein discovered at greater depth. After this vein was depleted in 1942, it was finally abandoned. Several dumps and remains of some mine buildings still survive at the top of Klappertshardt hill, about 400 m east of Hummerzheim.
Located near Mutscheid, SSW of Bad Münstereifel.
