"(Coming from Riom-ès-Montagne). South of the latter village on the D63 and then the D263 there is a mine exploiting pyrite and a few other minerals." [Belot, 1978]


Former subterranean quarry of diatomites. There are no real remnants of the mining activity anymore today because the adit entrances were filled. The diatomites formed approximately 5 million years ago in crater lakes (maars).
