Waygate Shaft is at the southern end of the vein about at its junction with Lochnell Vein.
Straitstep vein (also called Margarets vein or Whytes Cleuch vein) courses approximately NNW-SSE for about 1 mile. Straitstep vein was also developed from the Bay Mine shaft. The dump at Waygate shaft in 1987 produced the best examples of veszelyite in the UK.
