Old Cu-Fe mine that worked a metamorphosed polymetallic Variscan deposit.
Four adits are still visible (2016, Uwe Kolitsch and Christian Steck field observations); small remnants of miners' huts can also be seen.
The mine was active mainly in the 15th and 16th centuries. The ore was transported down the valley to an ore crusher (at 47.2172, 10.9682).

The ore consists mainly of pyrite and pyrrhotite with minor arsenopyrite, sphalerite, chalcopyrite and galena (Vavtar, 1988). Gangue minerals are quartz and minor calcite.

Located at very high altitude in the upper Wörgetal near the Schwarze Wand ('Black wall').
