Ancient iron mines, working Silurian phyllites (greywacke zone) enriched in sulphidic ores, mainly pyrite.
First report of mining from 1487, initially with a focus on copper, later on iron. Abandoned in 1780, mining on pyrite resumed from 1917-1926. Last mining activity during WWII, until 1952.

Located in the Schwarzenbach valley, about 5.5 km SE of Dienten.
