The mineralization is located only tens of metres west of the N-S trending intrusive contact of the shale with the Táliga pluton, a peraluminous highly deformed porphyritic biotite granite dated at 525 ± 1 Ma (U-Pb zircon) and that occupies the core of the Olivenza-Monesterio Domain. The mineralization infills an up to 30 m thick discontinuous breccia body that includes fragments of limestone and shale with phyllic-silica-rich alteration supported by a stockwork of mm-thick veins of quartz, carbonates, pyrite and chalcopyrite with traces of gold (up to 6.6 g/t). Pyrite is early and replaced by later chalcopyrite.
