Vein type Ag-(Au)-Pb, Zn, Cu-(W, Sn) mineralization on the southern slope of Grakofel Mt.

Located in the upper Rottenstein valley.

The Grosser Grakofl is 2,551 meters high or 237 meters above the surrounding terrain. It is about 5.5 kilometers wide at its foot.

The land around Grosser Grakofl is mountainous in the east, but in the west it is hilly. The highest place in the area is Säuleck, 3,086 meters above sea level, 18.5 km north of Grosser Grakofl. The nearest larger town is Obervellach, 11.5 km north of Grosser Grakofl.

The area around Grosser Grakofl is almost covered in mixed forest. With about 29 people per square kilometre around Grosser Grakofl, it is relatively sparsely populated. The average temperature is 5 °C. The warmest month is June, at 16 °C, and the coldest is December, at −6 °C. The average rainfall is 2,643 millimetres per year. The wettest month is November, with 388 millimetres of rain, and the driest is March, with 169 millimetres.
