Vote for your favorite mineral in #MinCup26! - Quartz vs. Asagiite
It's a classic vs a newbie as the most common named mineral in the crust Quartz is up against an exceedingly-rare sea foam-green mineral discovered just a few years ago Asagiite.

Qinnan is located along the axis of the Wulicun anticline (∼4 km west of Dahu) close to the Wenyu granite. The outcropping strata are the amphibolite, biotite gneisses and migmatite of the Taihua Group. According to the estimate by the Jinyuan Mining Co. ltd., the deposit has a resource of 28 t Au at 3.6 g/t. The main gold orebodies are auriferous quartz veins controlled by EW-trending faults. The main lode F5-Z1 in the Qinnan, >1 km long and 0.5–6 m thick, is hosted by the western extension of the mineralized F5 fault at Dahu. Au and Mo mineralization commonly occur within the same ore vein, such as lode F5-Z1. Three Mo orebodies in fault F5 have a combined Mo resource of 2,400 t with grades ranging from 0.11 to 0.21 %. Similar to the Dahu, the shallow portion (surface to 500 m in elevation) of Mo orebodies from the Qinnan has been oxidized and partly eroded. Mo-bearing veins are deformed and typically occur in angular or rounded shapes.

Four hydrothermal mineralization stages can be distinguished based on crosscutting relationships and mineral assemblages in Dahu and Qinnan Au-Mo deposits: early molybdenite, late molybdenite, gold, and post-mineralization stages.
