Ancient copper mining area. Sulphide minerals are enriched at the contact of calcite veins with a finely grained, bituminous dolomite.

Located on the NW slope of the Altenberg Mt. near Pöllan, about 2 km south of Paternion.

Not to be confused with the Pöllaner Höhe locality, located 2 km away.
