The occurrence consists of a horseshoe-shaped area of pyroclastic rocks distributed around a maar-type vent. The pyroclastics comprise 3 units, which from bottom upwards are lithic breccia, lapilli tuff and lithic tuff (Stoppa & Cundari, 1998).
