A former small underground Cu-Au-Ag mine located in the SE¼ sec. 30 & sec. 31, T13S, R12E, 10 miles NW of Tucson.
Mineralization involves fracture intersections in limestone lenses within arkose. Alteration includes skarn.
Description of material on the dump: Some skarn has considerable chalcopyrite, and locally, has coarse calcite veins with a brown coating; also much massive pyrite: some is in skarn and some is in wall rock, mostly unoxidized. The skarn zone is 3-4 meters wide and is visible in the cut behind (NW of) the shaft. Large limestone block (4 meters plus) on contact with hornfels, which is also exposed to the NW of shaft behind the hoist foundation - probably a bedding contact.
Local structures include much local faulting and fracturing.
Workings include an inclined shaft and other workings to a depth of 121.92 meters. Mainly active during 1917-1918, and 1943.
