Palon di Resy (2675 m), also spelled as Pallon in the old mountaineering literature, is a mountain located SW of Monte Rosso di Verra (3021 m), W of Punta Bettolina (2996 m), and ENE of the village of Fiéry, between the mouths of Vallone della Forca (aka Vallone di Fourcaré, Comba di Fourcaré or Combe de Fourcaré) and Vallone di Verra (aka Comba di Verra, Combe de Verra or Combe de Véraz).

The mountain mainly consists of magnetite-bearing antigorite serpentinite, but its south slope is made of greenschist facies tholeiitic metabasalt, with scattered eclogite relics, and metasedimentary horizons of the so-called Palon di Resy mélange, i.e. garnet micaschists and minor impure marbles with subrounded exotic inclusions of eclogitic-to-retrogressed metabasalt, probably fed by submarine pillow breccia (Dal Piaz, 1992; Dal Piaz & Ernst, 1978; Ernst & Dal Piaz, 1978; Dal Piaz et al., 1979).

At the west foot of the mountain, a little mass of grey-green fractured serpentinite crops out along the dirt road that connects Saint-Jacques-des-Allemands to Pian di Verra Inferiore (Plan de Verra Inférieur), about 300 m before the little bridge on the Verra stream (Torrente Verra). Morenosite with average composition (Ni0.70Mg0.30)SO4∙6.90H20 is found within these fractures as apple-green to grey-green incrustations (Boscardin & Colmelet, 1977).
